Many times our Easter celebration time is filled with eating yummy food, spending time with family, finding colorful eggs, and enjoying the beautiful spring weather (in the South, anyway). But for us who are followers of Christ, Easter is much more. It is a day of hope. Easter gives us hope that we can change. Jesus willingly gave His life for us, so that when we trust in Him, we will be changed. His sacrifice was not cheap. Salvation really works. Easter also gives us hope that we are loved. God demonstrated His love for mankind by giving of His Son to pay the penalty for sin. We can now come to God in Christ. We could never come to Him of our own accord. Last, Easter gives us hope that we will live forever. Just as Jesus raised Himself from the dead, so also will He raise us up from the dead to live with Him forever in glorified bodies. We will worship and serve Him forever with all those who have also trusted in Him.
We spent Easter by being with our church family in the morning and with our family in the afternoon. Here are a few pictures from the day.
